3G auction penciled in for 17 October, regulator selecting advisor

Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has set a tentative date of 17 October 2012 for the auction of full 3G mobile network operating licences in the 2100MHz frequency band, vice chairman of the regulator Settapong Malisuwan told journalists yesterday, Dow Jones Newswires reported. Thai newspaper The Nation notes that the NBTC will hold a public hearing on its draft spectrum licensing terms and conditions on Friday 20 July, while the telecoms committee of the regulator is in the process of selecting an advisor for the 3G auction process
