Chinese vendor ZTE has been selected by the newest entrant into the Peruvian wireless sector, Vietnam’s Viettel, to build out a national 2G/3G network. The first stage of the rollout will see ZTE install more than 2,000 base stations and the network, once completed, will cover all of Peru. Under the terms of the contract, ZTE will provide its Uni-RAN solution, which it claims enables operators to deploy their netowrks more efficiently
