Filipino operator Globe Telecom has dipped its toe into the voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) water, tapping New Jersey-based Vonage Holdings to help it to provide incoming IP telephony calls from the US. Commenting on the tie-up, Rizza Maniego-Eala, Globe group head for international business said the collaboration was designed to meet the needs of its customers, adding that it is committed to developing products that are ‘truly relevant and competitive’. Her words were echoed by Vonage managing director for international markets, Kimberly O’Loughlin, who said: ‘Our strategic partnership with Globe allows us to provide a low-cost, simple to use calling solution for the three and a half million Filipinos living in the US’
