Kabel Deutschland 6M revenue up 5.6% on rising RGUs

German cable operator Kabel Deutschland has announced it generated revenue of EUR830.1 million (USD1.1 billion) in the first half of its fiscal year ending 31 March 2011, representing an increase of 5.6% over the EUR785.8 million reported in the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in the six months to end-September 2011 totalled EUR389.9 million, up 9.8% year-on-year, while net profit reached EUR44.9 million, compared to a loss of EUR8.6 million twelve months previously. Kabel Deutschland said it invested a total of EUR178.2 million in its cable network and customer acquisition in the first half of its 2011/12 fiscal year, compared to EUR141.6 million in the year ago-period
