According to the Taiwan Economic News, Chunghwa Telecom is poised to invest TWD100 billion (USD3.32 billion) in the development of its fibre-optic network over the next three years. Company president Chang Hsiao-tung confirmed that the telco’s first objective is to focus on the completion of its 50Mbps network, whose coverage has already topped 80% island-wide. In addition, it will continue work on the expansion of its 100Mbps infrastructure, with 80% coverage anticipated by end-2015
