Japan’s NEC Corporation has inked a deal with Malaysian WiMAX provider Packet One Networks (P1) under which the duo will jointly promote both companies’ products and solutions in Malaysia. According to MIS Asia, under the terms of the agreement the pair will target the SME and SoHo markets, and plan to launch ‘SIP-in-a-box’, a telecommunications solution based on Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking. To create the solution NEC will provide its IP-PABX (SL1000 and SV8000 series) while it will utilise P1’s fibre broadband and WiMAX connectivity.
