The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has not been allocated funds to cover the long-delayed sale of 3G licences, according to Pro Pakistan. The watchdog, which has planned a large, international advertising drive to drum up interest in the auction, failed to have its 3G expenses approved in the 2012-2013 budget. Money for the sale was handed over to the PTA in the 2011-2012 budget, but the prolonged delay of the auction has seen the money exhausted without any progress.
